South Africa – Kaizer Chiefs were left frustrated after being held to a 1–1 draw by AmaZulu FC in a Betway Premiership encounter on Wednesday evening, despite creating numerous clear-cut chances throughout the match.

The Amakhosi started the game brightly, controlling possession and dictating the tempo from the first whistle. Their attacking intent was evident, with several opportunities falling to the frontline, but a lack of composure in front of goal proved costly.

AmaZulu opened the scoring midway through the first half after capitalising on a defensive lapse, putting Chiefs on the back foot. However, the visitors showed resilience, finding the equaliser before halftime through a well-taken finish from MDUDUZI SHABALALA.

In the second half, Kaizer Chiefs continued to press forward, creating multiple opportunities to take the lead. Despite sustained pressure and a series of near misses, the decisive goal never came, leaving the team to settle for a point.

Head Coach KHALIL BEN YOUSSEF expressed disappointment at the result but commended the team’s effort and attacking display.

“We created enough chances to win two games. The performance was positive, but we have to be more clinical in the final third. We’ll take the lessons from tonight and focus on turning these draws into wins,” said .

The result sees Kaizer Chiefs remain position 5 on the Betway Premiership table, as they shift focus to their next fixture against Stellenbosch at CAPE TOWN STADIUM.

Kaizer Chiefs thank the supporters for their continued loyalty and encouragement and remain committed to delivering strong performances in the coming fixtures.
