The Gauteng Ethics Advisory Council (GEAC), in partnership with the Gauteng Provincial Government (GPG), will host a high-level consultative session with leaders of organised business formations as part of efforts to entrench ethical procurement and clean governance across all GPG departments and entities.
This engagement forms part of the provincial government’s broader anti- corruption drive and will centre on the proposed adoption of the Integrity Pact for Businesses as a mandatory Standard Bidding Document in all GPG tenders.
The Integrity Pact is a proactive commitment between government and service providers that promotes fair competition, protects public resources, and restores public trust. It requires both parties to uphold the highest standards of integrity and transparency, banning bribery, collusion, and unethical conduct throughout the procurement processes. The Pact also outlines clear sanctions for violations, including contract termination, blacklisting and legal action.
The session will be attended by Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, Members of the Executive Council (MECs), and representatives of organised business, including Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA) and the Black Business Council (BBC). This dialogue marks a crucial step toward strengthening public-private partnerships rooted in accountability, fairness, and public value.
