South African titleholder and community changemaker Tsholo Peeters has returned home to a celebration of resilience, achievement and purpose, following a remarkable year in which she represented South Africa internationally, secured a global pageant title and was recognised for her contribution to community development.
After winning the Mrs Grand South Africa title, Peeters went on to represent the country at Mrs Grand International, where she distinguished herself on the international stage and walked away with the Top Model title – Mrs Model of the Grand.
Her return to South Africa was marked by an official homecoming celebration in Soweto, bringing family, supporters, partners and members of the community together to celebrate a journey that has extended far beyond pageantry.
For Peeters, the homecoming was about more than celebrating a crown.
It was a celebration of a journey shaped by setbacks, determination and an unwavering commitment to purpose.
“This year has taught me that success isn’t defined by a journey without setbacks – it is defined by what you choose to do when those setbacks come,” says Peeters. “There were moments that challenged me, but I kept coming back to my purpose: to transform, to empower and to give back.”
That purpose is at the heart of Activ8SA, the growing community movement founded around three simple but powerful pillars:

Through sport, fitness and movement, Activ8SA creates spaces where people can move, connect, heal and feel seen.
That work received significant recognition when Peeters, under the Activ8SA banner, received the 2026 Perfect Her Game Award for Community Development from the City of Johannesburg Sports Department – a milestone she describes as a shared achievement.
“This award belongs to every person who believed in Activ8SA – our Activ8tas, our partners, our volunteers and everyone who showed up and helped carry this vision,” she says. “We set out to use movement to bring people together and create spaces where people feel seen. To have that work recognised is incredibly humbling.”
A CROWN WITH PURPOSE
Peeters’ international success has given her a larger platform, but she says the purpose behind her work remains unchanged.
“A crown has meaning when you use the platform that comes with it to create something bigger than yourself,” she says. “This journey has never just been about winning. It is about what we can do with the opportunity once the spotlight is on us.”
Returning home after carrying the South African flag on an international stage made the moment particularly meaningful.
“I left South Africa carrying our flag and our story. To return home internationally crowned and to be celebrated by the community that helped shape me is incredibly emotional. It feels like everything has come full circle.”
The homecoming also provided an opportunity for Peeters to share a message o resilience with the women and young girls who are following her journey.
“The setbacks have made this moment mean even more. I want women and young girls who see my journey to know that a difficult season doesn't mean the dream is over. Keep showing up. Keep doing the work. Keep believing in what you have been called to do.”
For Peeters, the celebration marks not an ending, but the beginning of an even bigger chapter for Activ8SA and the community work that remains ahead.
From Soweto to the international stage and back home again, Tsholo Peeters’ 2026 journey is proving that resilience, representation and purpose can share the same crown.
