Castle Lager proudly celebrates the return of Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry, as South Africa prepares to host New Zealand for a historic eight-match tour from August to September 2026.
Held every four years and alternating between South Africa and New Zealand, Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry marks a new chapter in the professional era of one of the sport’s most iconic contests. The 2026 edition will see the All Blacks face the Springboks in four Test matches at Ellis Park (Johannesburg), DHL Stadium (Cape Town), FNB Stadium (Johannesburg), and, in a historic first for the rivalry, M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, United States.
Beyond the Test series, the All Blacks will also face four South African franchise teams—the DHL Stormers, Hollywoodbets Sharks, Vodacom Bulls, and the Lions—giving rugby supporters the opportunity to experience world-class rugby across the country.
As a long-standing supporter of South African rugby, Castle Lager’s association with Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry reflects the brand’s commitment to bringing fans together through unforgettable sporting moments while celebrating the passion, pride and camaraderie that define the game.

Castle Lager also remains committed to promoting responsible alcohol consumption through its Balanced Choices initiative, offering consumers moderation options for every occasion. The brand continues to invest in evidence-based awareness campaigns and works closely with communities, customers, and partners to encourage responsible consumption and positive behaviour.
Looking ahead, the rivalry will continue in 2030 when South Africa tours New Zealand for the first professional-era tour of the country, featuring provincial fixtures alongside a full Test series and further strengthening one of rugby’s greatest traditions.
As excitement builds towards the 2026 tour, Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry promises unforgettable action, fierce competition, and moments that will unite passionate supporters while celebrating the rich heritage shared by two of the world’s greatest rugby nations. Together with Castle Lager, fans can look forward to raising a glass responsibly to a rivalry that continues to inspire generations.
