PEP Mini Netball hosted its fifth coaching session at Laerskool Baillie Park in Potchefstroom, North West Province, continuing the successful nationwide rollout of the programme aimed at empowering grassroots netball coaches across South Africa.
The coaching session was led by PEP Mini Netball Ambassador Dumisani Chauke, together with netball development specialists Dr Elsje Jordaan and Minnette Dempsey. Coaches from schools across the province gathered for a day of practical learning, skills development and mentorship designed to strengthen coaching at grassroots level.
A total of XX coaches from XX schools attended the session, where they were equipped with valuable tools, coaching techniques and insights to help nurture and develop young netball players in their communities.
Speaking about the impact of the programme, Chauke said the enthusiasm and growth seen at each session continue to highlight the importance of investing in grassroots sport.
“With each session, you can really see the momentum building and the impact it’s having on coaches across different regions,” said Chauke. “It shows just how important this programme is at grassroots level, and it’s exciting to know there’s still so much more to come.”
The PEP Mini Netball coaching sessions form part of the programme’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities for young athletes by ensuring that coaches are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to guide and inspire the next generation of netball stars.
