eGaming, fierce competition, creativity and community will come together when Telkom VS Gaming returns to Comic Con Africa 2026 at the JHB Expo Centre, Nasrec, from 24-27 September.
As Africa’s biggest celebration of pop culture, Comic Con Africa brings together fans across entertainment, technology, gaming and creative culture.
The 2026 edition marks the 7th edition of Comic Con Africa since its inaugural edition in 2018.
Similar to the previous Comic Con Africa events, Telkom VS Gaming will add to the overall experience with a dedicated space For All Gamers – from eSports competitors and passionate gamers to casual players and gaming culture enthusiasts – to play, compete and experience the world of VS Gaming.
The four-day event will afford gamers and fans the most memorable gaming moments on the VS Gaming competitive calendar, with competition tournaments like:
· Masters Counter-Strike Final
· Championship Rocket League Final
· HSEL Counter-Strike Final
· HSEL Rocket League Final
· Tekken Final
· PUBG Final
Across the tournaments, players will compete across team and individual formats, culminating in a series of high-stakes finals, with a combined prize pool of more than R500,000 up for grabs.
Under its “For All Gamers” mantra, the Telkom VS Gaming area will also give visitors the chance to get into the game themselves, with a range of free-to-play challenges spanning EAFC Mobile, Kasi Rush, PUBG Mobile, EAFC and Tekken.
Running throughout the event, these challenges will give players the opportunity to compete for monetary prizes, Samsung devices and exclusive Telkom VS Gaming merchandise.
The experience will extend beyond the games themselves. On the main stage, fans will meet the Telkom VS Gaming Squad namely; Mobile Mo, Vibey Val, S-Tech and the newest addition, Lucky Lou, discovering more about the evolving VS Gaming universe.
Telkom is evolving its gaming proposition through the introduction of VS Gaming PRO, a premium offering within the broader VS Gaming ecosystem. VS Gaming will remain the gaming platform and entry point, connecting gaming communities across professional esports, mobile gaming, casual gaming, schools and grassroots gaming.
VS Gaming PRO will introduce a premium, paid layer to this ecosystem, providing consumers with access to enhanced gaming experiences, premium benefits, content, tournaments, and other value-added opportunities.
The activation will also celebrate the creativity of the Comic Con Africa community through the Next Gen Cosplay Competition, which returns this year with an increased R30,000 prize pool.
From watching champions compete to stepping into the action themselves, Comic Con Africa 2026 will offer a glimpse into the many ways gaming brings people together.
