The heartbeat of African jazz returns to Johannesburg as the Standard Bank Joy of Jazz 2025 takes centre stage from 26 to 28 September 2025 at the Sandton Convention Centre. Recognised as South Africa’s premier jazz festival, this year’s edition promises an unforgettable celebration of music, culture, and artistry.
With a stellar lineup of over 60 international and local artists, the festival embraces the theme of “Celebrating Exceptional Women in Music.” Audiences can look forward to electrifying performances by trailblazers such as Siya Makuzeni, Thandi Ntuli, Esperanza Spalding, Gabi Motuba, and José James. The legendary Wynton Marsalis & Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will also headline, bringing world-renowned artistry to the Sandton stage.
