The countdown to the 2026 Engen Knockout Challenge Cape Town tournament has officially begun following the successful completion of the regional qualifying rounds, hosted by SAFA Cape Town.
After a highly competitive qualification campaign, 32 teams have earned their place in one of South Africa’s most prestigious youth football tournaments. With regional honours at stake and a coveted place at the national Engen Champ of Champs on the line, the stage is set for the Cape Town leg of the Engen Knockout Challenge set for 26 – 28 June.
Held under the 2026 theme, “Where Diski Legends Start,” the Engen Knockout Challenge continues to play a pivotal role in South African football development by providing young players with a platform to showcase their abilities, sharpen their skills and pursue their dreams of playing at the highest level.
The Cape Town tournament will bring together the city’s leading Boys’ U-18 and Girls’ U-20 teams for three days of exciting football action at (venue name).
Defending Boys’ U-18 champions Cape Town City FC and reigning Girls’ U-20 champions Cape Town Roses return with the target firmly on their backs as they seek to defend their crowns and secure qualification for the prestigious Engen Champ of Champs later this year.
