SAFA PRESIDENT DR JORDAAN APPOINTED TO FIFA MEN’S NATIONAL TEAMS COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE

South African Football Association (SAFA) President Dr Danny Jordaan has been appointed to the FIFA Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee.

The SAFA President is currently attending the 47th Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) Ordinary General Assembly in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, that is to be graced by the continent’s 54 member associations and chaired by President Dr Patrice Motsepe on 6 October 2025.

The FIFA Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee will be chaired by Paraguay’s Robert Harrison with former Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Pinnick, serving as his Deputy. This Committee is regarded as the most important in FIFA as it oversees all FIFA men’s tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup, FIFA U20 World Cup, FIFA U17 World Cup, Men’s Olympic Football Tournament, FIFA Futsal World Cup, and the FIFA Arab Cup.

Dr Jordaan and Pinnick are both Advisors to Dr Motsepe and serve on the FIFA Committee for competitions. The SAFA President served as the CEO of Africa’s only FIFA World Cup in 2010, which has consistently been voted as the best global showpiece ever.
