PEP has concluded the 2026 PEP mini Netball coaching sessions, with the programme recently making its final stops in the Eastern Cape and Western Cape, reinforcing its continued commitment to strengthening grassroots netball development across South Africa.
The Eastern Cape session took place at Transkei Primary School in Mthatha, where 61 coaches participated. The programme then travelled to the Western Cape, where 124 coaches from 51 schools participated in the last session at Laerskool Volschenk in Riversdale.
The latest coaching sessions in the Eastern and Western Cape form part of PEP mini Netball’s ongoing investment in grassroots coaching, with the programme continuing to equip coaches across all nine provinces with the knowledge, practical skills and tools needed to nurture and develop the next generation of netball players.
Since its inception, PEP mini Netball has remained committed to building a stronger foundation for girls’ netball by investing not only in young players, but also in the coaches who play a vital role in their development. Through the 2026 coaching sessions, coaches have been equipped with practical guidance to create fun, inclusive and development-focused environments for young players.
The sessions have been facilitated by PEP mini Netball Ambassador Dumisani Chauke, alongside Dr Elsje Jordaan and Minette. Their expertise helped coaches better understand how to introduce and develop fundamental netball skills at grassroots level.
With the final provincial stops now completed, PEP mini Netball continues to demonstrate the importance of investing in the people who help shape the future of the sport, ensuring that coaches in communities across South Africa have the support and tools they need to nurture the next generation of netball talent.
