NATIONAL SCHOOLS FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GETS UNDERWAY IN DURBAN

The National Schools Football Championship 2025 will get underway in Durban at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Sports Grounds from today.

The Under-15 Boys & Girls tournament will be played from 12 – 15 July 2025 and is a partnership between the South African Football Association (SAFA), the Department of Basic Education and the Department of Sports, Arts Culture and Recreation. The Championship will showcase the most talented boys and girls from all nine South African provinces

In addition to being a competition, the Championship also serves as a platform for growth. In the coming days of the event, 18 boys and 18 girls will be selected for the national phase (Winter Games) to represent South Africa in the COSAFA Schools Championship.

The draw for the event Durban was held at SAFA House on 24 June 2024.

Dates: 12 – 14 July 2025
Venue: University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Sports Grounds, Durban
Time and match duration: Daily matches from 9h00 AM – 15h00 PM, 25 mintes per game
Group stages: 12-13 July 2025
Semifinals and Final: Tuesday, 14 July 2025
Participants: all nine South African provinces, U15 boys’ teams and U15 girls’ teams
