Johannesburg, South Africa – The Premier Soccer League (PSL), in collaboration with headline sponsor MTN South Africa, officially launched the highly anticipated MTN8 2025/26 season on Wednesday, 30 July 2025, during a live broadcast from SuperSport Studios in Johannesburg.

The launch event served as the ceremonial kickoff for one of South Africa’s most prestigious football tournaments, featuring the top eight teams from the 2024/25 DStv Premiership. This season’s MTN8 promises heightened intensity, renewed rivalries and unmatched entertainment under the tournament’s enduring slogan, Wafa Wafa – Winner Takes All. #Bazok’feela

The event was attended by PSL Team, MTN South Africa Team, player’s club representatives, football Legends and Media. During the live program, the official fixtures, venues, and new fan engagement initiatives were revealed to a national audience.

Tournament Fixtures Announced

The 2025/26 MTN8 quarter-finals will take place over the weekend of 2–3 August 2025, with the following high-profile clashes scheduled:

Orlando Pirates vs. Polokwane City – Orlando Stadium

Mamelodi Sundowns vs. Richards Bay – Lucas Moripe Stadium

Stellenbosch FC vs. AmaZulu FC – Cape Town Stadium

Sekhukhune United vs. TS Galaxy – Peter Mokaba Stadium

All fixtures will be broadcast live on SuperSport PSL and SABC Sport, ensuring fans across the country enjoy every minute of the action.
