The Gauteng Provincial Government today hosted the Gauteng Investment Conference 2026 at the Marriott Hotel in Melrose Arch, bringing together government leaders, investors, financial institutions, and business stakeholders to advance strategic investment into South Africa’s economic powerhouse.
The conference, a flagship platform aimed at mobilising investment, accelerating industrialisation, and driving inclusive economic growth, builds on the strong momentum of the inaugural 2025 conference, which secured more than R312 billion in investment pledges. Gauteng now seeks to attract a further R207 billion in new commitments through the 2026 edition.

The programme featured remarks from leading public representatives, beginning with City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor and host, Dada Morero, followed by Gauteng MEC Lebogang Maile, Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, and concluding with a keynote address by Deputy President Paul Mashatile.
Addressing delegates, leaders emphasised Gauteng’s role as the engine of South Africa’s economy and reaffirmed the province’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors through infrastructure development, industrial expansion, and strengthened public-private partnerships.

Deputy President Mashatile’s keynote underscored the national importance of provincial investment mobilisation, highlighting Gauteng’s contribution to South Africa’s broader economic recovery and growth agenda. His participation reaffirmed the strategic significance of the conference within the country’s investment and industrialisation programme.
The Gauteng Investment Conference 2026 convened local and international investors, African government representatives, municipal leaders, development finance institutions, and private sector executives to explore investment opportunities across key sectors including:
Advanced Manufacturing
Renewable Energy
Digital Infrastructure
Logistics and Transport
Agro-processing
Financial Services
Green Industrial Development
The Gauteng Provincial Government reiterated that the conference is not merely a forum for discussion, but a structured platform designed to convert investment commitments into tangible projects, jobs, and long-term economic transformation.
As Gauteng continues to strengthen its standing as Africa’s leading subnational investment destination, the 2026 conference marks another significant step toward unlocking inclusive prosperity and sustainable development for the province and the nation.
