BetCity has been approved to carry the Proudly South African logo, making it one of the first betting operators to display the mark.

For the company, the recognition is more than a new addition to its brand identity. It is a commitment to back local talent, local business and the communities that shape South Africa’s culture.

“BetCity is an urban brand built around communities, and we believe in showing up in ways that are meaningful, respectful and collaborative,” said Shivika Singh of BetCity. “Carrying the Proudly South African logo gives greater visibility to a commitment we intend to demonstrate through practical partnerships and real community impact.”

That commitment is already taking shape at Mofolo Park Dome in Soweto — a historic community space known for performances, gatherings and local expression. BetCity has joined Soweto Tourism, City Parks and relevant local entities, Versus Paint, community leaders and Mofolo residents in a phased effort to restore and revitalise the space.

The journey began with a community clean-up in July and will continue through creative, cultural and community-led activations that give the Dome renewed relevance and long-term value.

Local artists and creators are central to the project. Art by artist Senzo will contribute to the visual renewal of the space. The programme will also create opportunities for local storytelling, artist participation, market activation and community amplification.

Soweto Tourism will play a key role in connecting stakeholders and helping tell the community’s story, while City Parks and other local partners will support alignment around permissions, safety, environmental considerations and long-term upkeep.

Versus Paint will provide paint and mural support, helping turn the physical renewal of the Dome into a visible celebration of local creativity.

The Mofolo Park project reflects BetCity’s wider ambition: to build partnerships that go beyond sponsorship visibility and contribute meaningfully to the places where South Africans live, gather, play and create.

The Proudly South African logo therefore represents more than a symbol on BetCity’s communications. It is a standard against which the company intends to be measured — project by project, partnership by partnership and community by community.

BetCity is proud to be among the first betting operators approved to carry the Proudly South African logo. The work at Mofolo Park Dome is an early example of what that recognition can mean in practice: local people, local talent and local stakeholders working together to create something lasting.
