South Africa, August 27th 2026 – Today, adidas and Liverpool FC unveil the new third jersey for the 2026/27 season, a bold design inspired by the club’s rich European heritage and some of the most memorable nights in Anfield history. Combining an ultra-sleek black aesthetic with metallic accents and modern performance innovation, the jersey is designed to celebrate the unique atmosphere created by Liverpool supporters under the lights on European matchdays.
For decades, Liverpool FC’s European journey has been defined by unforgettable performances, dramatic moments and the unrivalled backing of the Anfield crowd. The 2026/27 Third Kit pays tribute to those occasions, drawing inspiration from the energy, passion and visual spectacle that have become synonymous with European football nights on Merseyside.

Built on a sleek black base, the jersey combines deep black tones with rich maroon detailing and matte silver accents throughout. The dark palette creates a sophisticated and contemporary look while reflecting the atmosphere of evening kick-offs beneath the stadium floodlights. A standout feature of the design is its subtle all-over engineered print, which creates texture and movement across the jersey. Inspired by the collective energy and visual impact of Liverpool supporters during European fixtures, the graphic pattern serves as a tribute to the fans whose voices and presence have helped define some of the club’s greatest nights. The adidas logo, Liver Bird crest and sponsor marks are executed in metallic silver, creating a striking contrast against the dark base and delivering a premium finish that catches the light on and off the pitch. Complementing these details, adidas’ iconic three stripes run across the shoulders, reinforcing the jersey’s clean and modern silhouette.
The shirt’s contemporary construction is paired with black shorts and black socks featuring coordinated silver branding and detailing, creating a unified look designed for European competition. Together, the elements deliver a kit that is both understated and impactful, balancing football performance with lifestyle appeal.
Designed for elite performance, the jersey incorporates lightweight engineered fabrics that maximise comfort and freedom of movement at the highest level of the game. Featuring adidas’ latest CLIMACOOL+ technology, the kit helps players stay cool and comfortable through advanced moisture management and strategically placed ventilation zones.
Extending beyond the pitch, the 2026/27 Third Kit is supported by a broader adidas Originals Teamgeist 26 apparel collection inspired by modern streetwear. The collection includes lifestyle jackets, track pants, tees, outerwear and Climacool footwear, blending football culture with contemporary design while carrying the visual identity of the third kit across a wider lifestyle offering.
The global launch campaign is led by the hero film – “Feel the Anfield Effect” – featuring Florian Wirtz, Ryan Gravenberch, Rio Ngumoha, Ceri Holland and Grace Fisk, and narrated by award-winning actor and lifelong Liverpool fan Owen Cooper.
The new Liverpool FC Third Jersey will be available from today via selected adidas retail locations, and online at adidas.co.za.
