Tshwane, South Africa, 15 April 2026 – TuksTennis junior Mahlaku Legare delivered an outstanding
performance at the TSA Nationals, finishing 4th overall in a highly competitive 64-player draw. The TSA
Nationals remains the pinnacle of junior tennis competitions in South Africa.
Legare’s campaign was highlighted by a commanding 6-2, 6-2 quarterfinal victory over 3rd seed Emma
van Rooyen. She advanced to the semifinals before falling to Winnie Masemola.
“Reaching the semis at TSA Nationals was a huge goal for me this season,” said Legare. “Beating a 3rd
seed the way I did shows the work we’ve put in at TuksTennis is paying off. Im proud of the 4th place finish
and hungry for more”
Legare competed in both the Super 8 and TSA Nationals events this season, underlining her status as one
of the country’s most consistent junior performers.

“Mahlaku competed with maturity beyond her years”, said TuksTennis Coach, Prince Madema. “To come
through a 64-draw at the biggest junior event and take out a top seed, 6-2, 6-2 is a real statement. Her
recent performance is a clear reflection of her commitment, hard work, perseverance, strong work ethic
and trust in the training process.”
The result continues a strong run for the TuksTennis program, which focuses on developing athletes to
compete at the highest national levels.
Building on this momentum, Mahlaku is now well-positioned to begin focusing on higher-
level competitions such as Super 8 events and ITF J30 and J60 tournaments, which will
further support her growth and exposure at an international level.
