The country’s premier university netball competition, Varsity Netball returns this month and TuksNetball is coming in with intent – a new-look management team, a blend of experience and fresh talent, and a campaign that starts both on court and in the UP community.
On the weekend of the 23rd of August, TuksNetball will launch its 2026 participation campaign focused on growing the game and elevating each player to be their best.
TuksNetball has announced a powerhouse management team headed by Coach Amanda Myhardt. The team brings together tactical expertise, high-performance, experience and a winning culture to drive TuksNetball forward in 2026.
The squad features a combination of experienced players and strong newcomers who bring versatility, youth power and resilience – all the qualities needed to compete at top level.
“This group is ready,” says Coach Amanda Mynhardt. “We have leaders who know what it takes to win at Varsity Netball and young players who are hungry to make their mark. Our mix gives us versatility, power and resilience. We are excited to get started and to represent the Stripe with pride.” In their opening fixture, TuksNetball will take on Kovsies and, over the same weekend go head to head with defending champions and neighbours, NWU in a highly anticipated clash that will set the tone for the season.
“Varsity Netball is about more than results,” says Riana Bezuidenhout, Acting HOP TuksNetball. It’s about inspiring the next generation. “We want young girls to envision themselves in our team, see themselves as part of the Stripe.”
Varsity Netball 2026 will feature the top 8 universities, national broadcast coverage and a festival atmosphere at every round. The tournament continues to be a key pathway to elevating the student-athlete and celebrating women’s sport.
