Fashion, entertainment and philanthropy came together at The Pink Society Fundraiser, held at the Country Club Johannesburg in Auckland Park on Saturday, 12 September 2026.
Presented in support of the Carmen Cares Foundation and in partnership with the Rotary E-Club of Southern Africa D9400, the event brought its theme, “Where Prestige Meets Purpose,” to life through an inspiring programme celebrating generosity, creativity and collective action.
Hosted by Carmen Melissa, the elegant high tea welcomed guests, community leaders, partners and supporters for an afternoon dedicated to raising awareness and support for the important work of the Carmen Cares Foundation.
“The Pink Society was created to show that glamour and purpose can share the same stage,” said Carmen Melissa. “Every person who attended, sponsored, performed, designed or volunteered helped us turn a beautiful occasion into something truly meaningful. This was not simply an event – it was a community coming together to make a difference.”
Mrs World 2025, Tshego Gaelae, guided the programme as Master of Ceremonies, bringing warmth, elegance and energy to the occasion.
Guests were inspired by a distinguished speaker line-up featuring television presenter and Middeljare-mojo personality Marna Grobler, who spoke about embracing life after 50; Dr Arnav Kapur, who shared insight into potentially life- changing early cancer detection research; professional speaker, coach and master facilitator Candida Di Giandomenico; and Tandi Potgieter, who spoke about saying YES! To life and introduced the work and values of Rotary.
The programme also welcomed representatives of Rotary International, including District Governor Nominee Jean Bernardo and Rotary E-Club of Southern Africa D9400 President David Price.
One of the afternoon’s highlights was a spectacular charity fashion show featuring collections by Diaan Daniels Couture, JJ Schoeman, Chantal Couture, JT Bespoke Couture and Sari for Change. The runway celebrated South African creativity while demonstrating the powerful role that fashion can play in supporting meaningful causes.
Entertainment by Icarus Sound and performer Kevin Ellis from The Royal Countess Zingara added energy and theatrical flair to the afternoon.
“The support shown at The Pink Society was incredibly moving,” said Carmen Melissa. “It will enable the Carmen Cares Foundation to reach more people affected by cancer and remind them that, even during the most difficult times, they still deserve to feel beautiful and confident. Our Carmen Care Packages include wigs, lashes and other thoughtful essentials that help people reconnect with themselves and feel like themselves again.”
The organisers extended their gratitude to Country Club Johannesburg, the event’s sponsors and partners, the designers, speakers, entertainers, models, beauty teams, production crew, volunteers and every guest who supported the initiative.
Special appreciation was also extended to photographer Ryan Enslin, Rampage Modelling Agency and its models, as well as the hairstylists and make-up artists from Blush Academy who generously contributed their skills to the event.
The Pink Society Fundraiser marks the beginning of a growing platform designed to connect influential people, businesses and creative talent with causes that deserve greater visibility and support.
